Coconutty Dark Bark
This dark bark is a dark chocolate with all the nutrition of coconut oil and coconut sugar. It is wonderfully adaptable. To the basic recipe you can add nuts, dried organic fruit, etc. You can even gently melt it and use it as a wholesome “magic shell” for homemade ice cream! The coconut oil makes it smooth and silky, but be careful. This will definitely melt in your hands. Keep the pieces small to avoid melting.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Cocoa (sifted)
- 1 1/2 cup (melted) Organic Virgin Coconut Oil
- 2/3-1 cup (powdered in a processor) Organic Coconut Sugar
- 1-2 cups Unsweetened Shredded Coconut
- 1 dash Sea Salt
- 1/4 cup Nuts (optional, as desired)
- 1/4 cup Dried Fruit (optional, as desired)
Instructions
- Mix thoroughly.
- Spread on wax paper or silpat to about the thickness of a chocolate bar (1/4 inch or less. Chill for about 30 minutes.
- Break into pieces or cut (a pizza wheel is recommended) into bars. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
- Enjoy!
