    Could I use this in substitution of canned coconut milk? Or is this just a sub for the kind you drink or make smoothies with? Thanks!

      Hi, Laura! That would likely all depend on the recipe and how you are planning to use it. If the swap is just for drinking or smoothies, you will be fine. If, however, you are making a recipe that uses canned coconut milk because it’s thicker, then this might not be an appropriate substitution.

    I’m so impressed! I wasn’t sure how this would work as a replacement for canned coconut cream (like the Trader Jo’s variety) in my butter chicken recipe, but it totally worked. I added just a touch more creamed coconut than a third cup since I was supposed to be using coconut cream rather than coconut milk, and it was perfect! I was skeptical because scanned coconut milk is white and the manna almost has a yellow tinge, but when I mixed it with water, it came out pure white. I bought a 10 pound bag of cream of coconut on Amazon for just over $20, and melted it into smaller mason jars. This recipe mixed with that steal on Amazon is going to save me soooo much as I cook Indian and Thai food often. Thank you thank you!!!

      Why didn’t you just use the manna to make the coconut cream? You bought more coconut cream to mix with a thickened version of this recipe? So confused! I was thinking of trying coconut cream by lessening the water content in this recipe from your comment…but now I’m confused about your method.

    I have a recipe for coconut milk for my granddaughter that uses one 14 oz can of coconut milk. What amount of coconut manna would be equal to 1 14oz can of coconut milk? The recipe has additional supplements so using the recipe on your recipe wouldn’t work in this case. Thanks for any help 🙂

      Hi Kim,
      We suggest using between 1/3 tp 1/2 cup of Coconut Manna with 1 1/4c water. Experiment and let us know what works well!
