Now Certified Gluten-Free!

GLutenFreeCertified-webWe are excited to announce that we have obtained gluten-free certification for our Chia Seeds, Coconut Flour, and Coconut Sugar.

A growing number of people are choosing to eat gluten-free, and many people must eat gluten-free out of medical necessity.

At Nutiva, we take allergen concerns very seriously. We are happy to offer products that are wholesome, pure, and appropriate for those with dietary restrictions. These particular products have always been non-gluten, but this certification gives our customers added peace of mind. While not all our products are certified gluten-free, we are pursuing gluten-free certification for additional items, where appropriate.

Look for the gluten-free symbol on the new packaging of Chia Seeds, Coconut Flour and Coconut Sugar. Thanks for helping us revolutionize the way the world eats.

Is your coconut flour processed in a dedicated gluten free facility? I understand that it is naturally gluten free, but some other companies use shared equipment and do first runs for gluten free items and pass the certification. I have Gluten Ataxia which is a condition that is much more sensitive and my doctor says 20 ppm does not cut it which is the purpose of certification. Actually according to an ex president of the Celiac Sprue Association who was a nurse, the absence of symptoms when exposed to minute amounts of gluten for any autoimmune disease does not mean your body is not being damaged. According to her and my doctor it will build of over time leading to much more serious conditions.
I normally eat only meat, vegetables and fruit that I pack myself. I am traveling much more lately which makes it harder. So I thought if I could find a truly GF flour then I could mix with some other items to produce a snack bar for breakfast. Thus reducing what I have to pack in a cooler. So I am hoping that your coconut flour is safe for me.
    Thanks for your help.
