Coconut
Update
We continue
to experience a surging demand for Nutiva Organic Extra-Virgin Coconut
Oil. An entire ocean container load of coconut oil recently sold out in
just a few days, and we regret that some stores may be out of stock of
some or all of our various oil sizes. Customers have called to say they
tried Nutiva a while back and then couldn’t locate it, and thus
bought another virgin coconut oil brand. Yet the other oil, they say,
just doesn’t compare to Nutiva’s delicious light flavor.
We have more
than 500,000 pounds of our coconut oil on the way, and expect to be back
in stock August 1 with 15-oz and 29-oz bottles as well as 1-gallon and
5-gallon pails. We thank you for your patience and understanding, and—believe
me—we’re working hard on this supply issue.

Hemp
Guacamole
Peel several
ripe avocados, remove the seeds, and mash the pulp in a serving bowl.
Add a chopped tomato, 1/8 cup of chopped onions, and 1/2 cup of shelled
hempseed. Mix well, then add tamari, sea salt, and dried herbs to taste.
Lemon or lime juice is optional, to add flavor and help extend the freshness.
Sprinkle
some hempseed on top of the guacamole for a neat visual effect, and serve
with chips or sliced veggies. This dip is a sure winner and great conversation
piece for any party.

Donation Spotlight:
VoteHemp.com
Nutiva
donates 1 percent of its sales to groups supporting sustainable agriculture.
The efforts of these groups, taken as a whole, may range from community
gardens or GMO labeling to the banning of toxic pesticides or of mutated
gene fragments. To date, Nutiva has donated more than thirty-five thousand
dollars to these efforts.
This month
we’re delighted to honor VoteHemp.com
VoteHemp (VH)
is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the acceptance of industrial
hemp. The recent Washington hemp foods luncheon is just one example of
VH’s efforts to educate Americans—from government officials
to everyday citizens. VH also works on various state hemp bills, hemp
PR campaigns, and educational materials concerning hemp. Much of their
work is done through volunteer effort. Please consider making a donation
to this grassroots group to assist them in their vital efforts to bring
hemp farming back to the US of A.
